Texas, Houston - Wednesday, October 23, 2013 - Eastlake RV Resort

Yesterday afternoon we arrived at the Eastlake RV Resort just outside of Houston.  This park has only been open for seven weeks, but it looks like they have a good handle on what needs to be done.  They do have a few things that we haven’t seen at other campgrounds:
A complimentary doggie bathing area

Golf cart rental

And “mosquito free” areas all around the pool and patio area.

The campground surrounds a man-made lake which is kind of pretty with its fountains.  This is a catch and release lake.

The pool and hot tub area looks pretty inviting.  However, I still haven’t been able to locate a bathing suit.  I thought I might be able to find one once we got to an area where the weather was warmer.  But, it seems that the weather only seems warmer to us, not the locals.  So, the stores here have out the same winter weather stuff that we saw back in Indiana.  The weather report last night put out a “snuggle alert” because it was going down to the high 50’s (really chilly according to them).  It was in the low 80’s today – perfect.

The recreation area is very nice.

This pool table is beautiful.

The exercise equipment looks out over the lake.

This afternoon we were sitting in a porch swing on the porch of the recreation area and this little guy walked within about 20 feet – looked like he was just walking the edge of the lake for exercise.

We were trying to figure out where we could do a time delay picture of the both of us for Christmas card pictures so Greg did a couple of experimental shots to see what would work for lighting and background.  This is me, no makeup and no hairdo – looking retired and loving it.
