On Thursday
we stayed with this little cutie, granddaughter Maddie, while Mom and Dad were
at work. She will be three shortly so
she had a lot more energy than Papaw and Grandma did.
This morning Robyn and Maddie picked us up for a trip to City Market on 7th Street in Washington, D.C. This is a view of the inside where fresh seafood, meat, breads, etc. are available.
Before we looked through the produce we stopped at the Market Lunch Deli for buckwheat/blueberry pancakes.
The buckwheat pancakes are their specialty. They were great, the short stack at $5.50 was more than enough for me. We added some bacon, juice and coffee and the bill was still under $20 for the two of us. Definitely need to try the pancakes if you are at the City Market.
Rain started
to pour down just as we finished breakfast so we went out to the outside
produce vendors and quickly picked out some peaches, tomatoes, corn and
cantaloupe before we got too wet. The
market is someplace you could spend all morning so if you are going, plan to
spend at least a couple of hours to check out everything.
Today is
Jason and Robyn’s anniversary so we all went to Old Town Alexandria to Jackson 20 for
dinner. The pig in the reception area
was Maddie’s favorite thing besides the cherry she got on top of her ice
cream. She was just disappointed that
she couldn’t ride it.
