Virginia, Lexington - Sunday, May 31, 2015 - Natural Bridge/Lexington KOA

We are here in Natural Bridge/Lexington KOA site 74 for the night.  We normally don’t use KOAs but there wasn’t much else to choose from that was decent.  The good campgrounds in Virginia must be nearer the coast J.  Since we are just passing through this will work out just fine.

We are having the same trouble finding a good campground around Harrisburg, PA which is where we plan to be tomorrow night.  The last time we were in Harrisburg we stayed at Harrisburg East RV Park, it was ok and I think it was the only thing we could find then.  We’ll probably be staying there again tomorrow night because we can’t seem to find anything else – we are open to suggestions if anyone has stayed somewhere else.

Greg was pretty certain he wouldn’t be watching TV this evening but the Dish locked onto a satellite through a hole in all of the leaves.

After we left the rally site this morning we had to stop for our monthly grocery shopping.  I put away all of the things that had to go in the freezer and fridge while we were in the Wal-Mart parking lot.  This is what still needed to be put away this evening.  I did find a place for everything.  I’m glad we only do this once a month, wears us out.  Pulling into Wal-Mart with the coach keeps us from having to do really large shopping trips on the motorcycle.

The scenery through North Carolina and into Virginia was really pretty until we ran into some rain.

And then some other vehicles ran into each other creating this 3-mile back up in front of us.  I guess it went back behind us several more miles.  When we got to the accident site it looked rather minor to have created all this mess.

Site 74 was the only site available that we could fit into.  In fact we had to pull through the site behind us in order to get into this one.  Later in the day another couple that was at the RV Dreams rally pulled into it, we were glad they were running late.  At $60 a night it is more than we usually spend on overnight stays.  It is more expensive because it has a large deck.  Everything looks pretty new except for the fire pit, it has had some hard use.

The swing looks brand new and was real comfy until the wind and rain came in.

If you are big into checkers, this is the place to come.
