Texas, Weatherford - Sunday, May 3, 2015 - Oak Creek RV Park

We left the oilfields of Midland early this morning and headed into fields of red dirt, wheat fields and fields disked ready for cotton planting.  The oil derricks were replaced by windmills.  Unfortunately, bare fields or even wheat fields are hard to capture in a picture that is worthwhile while moving down the road.  Even though Greg cleaned the bugs off the windshield at our fuel stop this morning, they soon caught up with us again.  Speaking of fuel stops, it’s a lot more pleasant to be paying $2.50 to $2.70 a gallon than the over $4.00 a gallon we paid last year.
We will be staying one night at Oak Creek RV Park in Weatherford, TX.  This is a nice place.  We are in site 47, the only problem with it is we can’t get any TV reception because of the trees.

The weather is perfect tonight so we took a walk around the grounds after supper.  We aren't used to seeing this much green grass.  The roads are all paved and wide enough to move around easily.

The resort office and recreation room building, looking rather castle-like.  This is a Good Sam park.

The recreation room entrance is pretty impressive.

Looks like there is lots of room for activities or meetings.  There is a full kitchen off of this room but there was a lady getting ready to do a lot of cooking in there so I didn’t bother her with pictures.

The outside patio area is very nice.  I could be comfortable here with a fire in the pit and a bottle of wine.

The pool is a little different than most with a waterfall on the far side.

This little squirrel was having a very hard time wrestling with this piece of bark.  He was doing all kinds of back flips and jumps trying to work this thing into submission so he could take it up the tree to his nest.  While we were there the bark was winning.

There is a stream that runs through the middle of the park.  Their brochure mentions it is ok to fish.

The neighbors seem to be content.
