Mississippi, Vicksburg - Friday, May 8, 2015 - River Town Campground

We are in Vicksburg, Mississippi until Monday morning.  We are staying at River Town Campgrounds.  So far it seems like a nice country campground.  Roads and sites are stone but in good shape.  Full hook ups with 50 amp service was $73.83 for three days with our Good Sam card.  We aren’t here for campground amenities and activities, we are here to explore some Civil War history so this works out just fine for us.

We left Shreveport this morning with $50 fewer dollars in our pocket after our visit to the casino last night L.  We found out our windshield wipers work just fine, it was really pouring when we pulled out.

Thankfully, we didn’t have to use them for the entire trip.  We stopped in Monroe, Louisiana (home of Duck Commander) for groceries.  By the time we got done the sun had come out.

There has been so much rain here that the Mighty Mississippi is overflowing its banks.

It doesn’t appear that there has been rain here at the campground so it shouldn’t be a problem to get the bike unloaded and do a little exploring in Vicksburg tomorrow.
