Our last
night at Stone Mountain I was hoping to get a nice sunset picture. We walked down to sit on the bench at Serenity
Park after supper to wait for the sun to go down.
We saw the
rowing team.
A lone
fisherman.
But, no
pretty sunset.
Our trip
through Georgia and Alabama looked mostly like this – lots of trees to look at.
For a while
it looked like this when traffic came to a standstill for several minutes in a
construction zone. This view is still
disconcerting to me even though I know this truck is being towed.
The race
track at Talladega is gearing up for the races this coming weekend. We’ve not been to this track, will have to
put it on the list to see on another trip back to Mesa.
We crossed
the Mississippi line listening to classic country music on the Willie’s
Roadhouse station on Sirius Radio.
We are
spending the night at Bonita Springs RV Park in Meridian, MS. Not sure what the significance is of the
railroad signs. I guess if a train comes
through in the middle of the night I’ll find out.
Seems to be
a decent place to spend the night. Level
concrete pads and full hook ups. Not
very scenic for a walk tonight but that’s ok.
We’ll be headed out early in the morning.
