We are in
site B3 at Wahweap campground until next Friday.
Our site is
surrounded by a lot of native shrubs and trees.
The lots are pretty spacious with a nice picnic table and fire ring at
each site. The other RV you can see part
of in the second picture is a level down from us so it is really pretty far
away.
The
registration building has a very nice gift shop/convenience store included.
The flag was
proudly showing its colors in today’s wind.
We noticed a
little furry neighbor early this morning.
Not sure if this is a chipmunk or just an Arizona relative.
There are
some very nice walking paths along with some more primitive trails. We decided to stick to the paved ones today
to get a feel for what was around us.
Our walk
between the campground and a very nice resort about a mile away was loaded with
some beautiful scenery along Lake Powell.
From the
outside the resort appears to be very well kept. We went into the lobby area to check out
another great gift shop, and a couple of restaurants.
The larger
restaurant has a very nice view of Lake Powell.
There is
beach all along the lake from the campground to the resort. This stretch is near the resort. The beach may be tomorrow’s walk.
Flowers are
just beginning to come out here, I think the nights are still too cool for much
to happen yet.
We checked
out the schedules for the lake tour boats that are shown here at the dock, one
of those tours may be in the future plan once the wind dies down some.
By the time
we got back to our campsite we had both taken off our jackets, the temperature is
really pretty nice, just a little too much wind.
