This past
week we had some storms roll through.
Some more are scheduled for later tomorrow, hope we make it to our next
destination before they hit.
Wednesday
was our last day of work at the Cactus Ranch Grill. We’ll miss the great team we worked with. I think a few of them may be coming back again
next year. We were the lucky ones this
year, I think we were the only ones that didn’t come down with the flu. Maybe now I won’t have to try so hard to get
Greg to get his flu shot next year.
Greg has been
packing up the outside things for a couple of days. He finished up this afternoon with waxing the
coach, cleaning the windows outside and polishing the tire rims. If it doesn’t rain we can make a good
impression at our next stop.
I spent the
day finishing up some laundry, making a meat loaf and a few other things so I
wouldn’t have to cook too much for a few days.
Should only take me a few minutes tomorrow morning to finish up the
inside stuff to get ready to move. We
plan on leaving just after daylight in the morning.
I’m looking
forward to traveling again but I have to admit I am also a little
apprehensive. Here we have the grocery
shopping down pat to accommodate our low-calorie, low-sodium diet. We have to hit four different stores a week
to get all of our favorites but it has been worth it. We both have lost 38 pounds and we would like
to keep up that trend until we are down about 30 more. Now we will have to search stores in all
kinds of areas to find what we like or something similar.
We are also
going to have to be more conscious of pushing ourselves to exercise. While here we are on the go at our job for 12
hours a week and square dancing for at least 6 hours a week. Somehow we’ve got to be able to maintain that
18 hours a week of exercise – sounds like a lot of walking, hope the weather is
nice.
I’ll be
doing a lot more posting on the blog, but that sitting isn’t going to burn many
calories!!
From here we
will be going north to Page, AZ to a campground on Lake Powell. We’ll be staying there and sightseeing for a
week. Then, weather permitting, we will
head to Utah to tour Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. We’ll figure out somewhere to stop in Idaho
on our way to Yellowstone. Yellowstone
doesn’t open until May 1st so we will be some of the first visitors
this year. After Yellowstone we will be
in South Dakota in the Badlands/Mount Rushmore area for a while before heading
south to Kansas to visit David and the grandkids. Looking forward to seeing them again. We should be there mid-May until the end of
May.
