Kansas, Pratt - Tuesday, October 20, 2015 - Dinner with Family and Friends

As we were leaving to go in town for dinner last night I noticed there was a beautiful sunset.

Here we are all stuffed after a wonderful meal at Club d’Est.  Grandson Tyler, his fiancée Rachel, me, Greg, son David and our friend Lisa enjoyed spending some time together.  We embarrassed David by bringing our low sodium salad dressing with us (it was in very small discreet bottles) J.  We can’t fix all the sodium we get when we go out, but we can fix the salad dressing issue.

We went back to Lemon Park this afternoon and completed two circuits around the one mile walking trail.

We noticed these electrical hook ups as we walked yesterday, a lot of them randomly placed throughout the park.  Because of our RV lifestyle we assumed they were RV hookups, but couldn’t figure out how RVs would get to some of them.  Last night at dinner we asked David about them and he said they were for special Christmas light displays.  Evidently they have some pretty spectacular displays.

The walking path here is very well kept and benches that have been donated by various people line the path if you need to take a break.

Most of the trees are labeled.  I picked up pine cones from a few of the different pine trees for Christmas decorations.  These trees are labeled Bald Cypress.  I was under the (mistaken, evidently) assumption that Bald Cypress trees only grew in the swamps of Florida and some of the other southern states.  These trees are huge so they have been flourishing here for quite a few years.
