We left St.
Louis around 9:00 a.m. which is about an hour earlier than we are normally on
the road. There was a train that came
through close to the RV Park at 5:45 this morning with whistles blowing so we
were up much earlier than we usually are J.
We missed the entrance to get back on the interstate and had to take a
short tour of the less than scenic side of St. Louis in order to get turned
around and back on track. For the six or
so blocks we went in order to get turned around there wasn’t a street sign
anywhere. We wondered if they were never
there or if they had some value to them and mysteriously disappeared.
The Royals Stadium was still quiet as we passed around 2:00 this afternoon. We weren’t going to go much further than Kansas City today, but Greg was feeling good so he ended up driving six hours to get us into Emporia. As we were going by the stadium we were talking and listening to classic country music on Sirius radio and once again went by the interstate interchange we needed – the GPS lady is going to have to talk louder. Next exit was close, so no scenic tour this time and we were headed in the right direction quickly. I know this sounds like we are inattentive, but we really aren't. We usually don't miss anything, today was evidently just not our day.
The campground where we are staying is clean and functional with full hookups for $27.00 a night with our Good Sam discount. However, there isn’t much picture worthy. We think it used to be a KOA campground, with 30 or so pull through sites. It works for what we need for an overnight stay.
We are in
Kansas now. Can’t wait to see David and
the grandkids. There are bug spots in all of my photos today. Greg can't lift his left arm above his head for a few weeks yet so our windshield will be dirtier than it usually is for a while.
