This is our
last day at the Hollywood Casino RV Park.
We’ve had a nice time here. The
weather today was in the high 60s and sunny.
I spent some
time cleaning and Greg reworked some storage areas of the “basement”. He also fixed a scratch up near the roof we
got from a tree branch. We got just a
little bit lost coming in to this campground.
We went by where we were supposed to turn. Although we realized it right away once we
were by it we were on a narrow country road heading who knows where. I am always surprised how well Greg can maneuver
this thing. I bet we surprised the
people who owned the driveway where he backed in and turned around! If we were towing another vehicle we wouldn’t
have nearly as much capability to get out of tight spots. At any rate, there was a low hanging branch
that just couldn’t be avoided so we got a little scratch. We took advantage of the half price for seniors buffet at the casino for lunch. You just can’t beat $6.99 for a huge buffet. They had shrimp and whole Dungeness crabs today. We did a number on the shrimp, but I have a problem with a whole crab. I don’t want to have to dismember anything before I eat it. I did get brave and tried a couple of Cajun dishes – crawfish cornbread and crawfish pie. They were both pretty spicy. The crawfish cornbread was kind of like cornbread dressing – the crawfish (or at least I think that is what it was) was very good. I didn’t care for the crawfish pie. The filling was rice and other things that were very finely ground up, I took a couple of bites and decided it was too spicy for me. I’m eating Tums this evening.
Tomorrow we are headed to Gulf Breeze campground in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Once our refrigerator part comes in we’ll have to come back to Gulfport, MS to get it installed. Needless to say I won’t be fixing a big Thanksgiving dinner this year since we are without a fridge. I think the campground at Gulf Breeze has Thanksgiving dinner on their calendar of events. I just hope it isn’t a pitch-in, we might have to take canned cranberry sauce if it is. Oh well, we’ll still be very thankful for our wonderful life, our amazing children and their spouses, our grandchildren and great grandbaby and our ever growing network of friends.
