Mississippi, Bay St. Louis - Wednesday, November 6, 2013 - Hollywwod Casino RV Park

Today was a travel day.  Heading to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi to stay at the Hollywood Casino RV Park.
A final shot of sugar cane in Louisiana.  I thought the flag looked very impressive.

This shot was taken on the move out my side window, so it’s kind of blurry.  We haven’t had much opportunity to see the sugar cane being harvested so I wanted to try to get a shot of it.

This is a sugar processing plant, I think it said Colonial Sugar.  My picture is of the older building on site since that is what I find interesting.  There is a much larger part that is much more modernized.

More of I-10 going through the swamps.

We crossed just a small part of Lake Pontchartrain.  There was water as far as you could see on both sides of the road.  My picture doesn’t do it justice, it was pretty overcast so it’s hard to see where the sky ends and the water begins – very amazing.  There was a pretty good breeze blowing, there were plenty of whitecaps on the water.

I’m just in awe of how anyone could build roads, railroads and utility towers in all of this water.  And, I’m sure the amount of traffic traveling on these roads is much greater than it was when the road was built.

The RV park is along a small bayou of Bay St. Louis

With lots of trees covered in Spanish moss.

This is an up close look at the moss.

Here we are.  We’ll be here just hanging out for the next 10 days.  We are really close to the Gulf of Mexico and I think Bay St. Louis might have some interesting things to see downtown, so I’m sure we’ll find plenty to do.
