We arrived
at Camp A Way campground around 6:00 this evening. We’ll be joining the pancake breakfast in the
morning and then we’ll be on the road for Pratt, KS.
We put away
the frozen and refrigerated groceries before we left Sioux Falls, but the rest
had to be put away once we got settled this evening. I had to laugh at the cashier at the grocery
store she said she didn’t think she had ever rung up an order that big (maybe
she was new). Once again we decided to
buy a month’s worth of groceries in one stop since it worked out so well for us
for the last six weeks. In that time we
ate out four times for lunch, we fixed 42 breakfasts, 38 lunches and 42 dinners
at home. One thing that was a surprise –
South Dakota charges sales tax on food.
We didn’t buy paper or cleaning products today so I knew that everything
we bought was food. It’s a good thing we
didn’t buy anymore, the freezer, fridge and pantry are all packed again.
We won’t be
up late this evening – no TV reception, too many trees.
We walked through the campground after supper and it’s a very nice
place. They have a pool, hot tub,
playground for the kids and a fenced in doggy park for the pets. We are in among a lot of Nebraska Husker
fans, they play tomorrow night here in Lincoln.
We don’t have a Purdue flag so we thought about running my Purdue
sweatshirt up our flagpole just to create a little stir. These people look like serious fans, with
lights, decorations, blow up Husker figurines and flags everywhere.
