This morning
I finished some of the cleaning/labeling projects I started yesterday. After lunch we headed to the Sioux Empire
Fair. From the literature we read on it,
it sounded like the county 4-H Fair back in Indiana. The admission fee was supposed to be $7 a
person, so I had money in my pocket so I could pay for us (it’s hard for Greg
to get money out of his billfold and hold on to the bike at the same
time). We didn’t see anyone taking money
until we came out. Not sure if it was
free this morning, but it was for us.
There were a
lot of nice big buildings on the fairgrounds.
The
announcer said it was Ag Day and mentioned to visit the livestock barns. We found about 10 cows, a couple of dozen
pigs and four or five sheep – that was it.
Going
through the exhibit building we did note that they had a competition I don’t
recall seeing at the Madison County Fair
They
have a nice grandstands, I think the Charlie Daniels Band is performing
tonight, admission to the concert is free with that $7 fair admission you are
supposed to pay.
