Arizona, Mesa - November, 26, 2015 - Happy Thanksgiving

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS, WE ARE SO BLESSED TO HAVE YOU IN OUR LIVES.

I know it’s a little non-traditional but we started off the morning by going square dancing.  Most people out here are retirees who aren’t cooking big celebration dinners so we had eight couples show up and had a good time.
We cooked our dinner to have at home so we could stick to our diet.  We were able to enjoy some of the Thanksgiving basics – smoked turkey, gravy, green beans, sweet potato and cranberry sauce in moderation.  We even had pumpkin pie after this, just a smaller portion J.

I have to admit I miss the green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes with lots of butter, stuffing and yeast rolls, but the scale is still going down and I don’t want to mess with a good thing.  It helps that we are doing this together so if one of us weakens the other one is there to pull us back.

The weather for Thanksgiving is 20 degrees cooler than last year out here.  We had a “cold” front come through and knocked out the 70-80 degree weather.  It got up into the 60’s today and is supposed to stay that way until next week sometime.  Maybe when the weather warms up again we can enjoy getting out on the bike more.  Right now we go out for what is necessary and that is about it.
