Georgia, Stone Mountain - Sunday, October 16, 2016 - Stone Mountain Campground

We are back at Stone Mountain for a couple of days.  We will pull out of here on Tuesday morning and this time we really are headed to Mesa, AZ.  We are in site 148 this time.  This site has full hook ups and is quite a bit larger with a small patio area attached.  Very nice, but we can’t get TV reception here so Greg couldn’t watch the NASCAR race this afternoon.

The two hour drive back to Stone Mountain highlighted some really pretty foliage. Unfortunately, the pictures don’t show the colors to be as bright as they really are.  We decided the Smokey Mountains was a good place to see the leaves turn.

Today is the day we start back on our diet and exercise program that we put into place when we were in Mesa last year.  We left Mesa last year down 40 pounds each from our arrival weight.  Unfortunately, we put some of those pounds back on while we were out visiting and having a good time.  We are still down many pounds from where we started out last year so we just have to give it another go to reach our goals.

On a walk to Stone Mountain Lake and around a part of the campground we ran across this quiet place for enjoying the lake.

We weren’t the only ones enjoying the lake this evening.

This spot is aptly named Serenity Park.

There are several yurts for rent here – something we have heard about but hadn’t seen.  This one is all closed up but there are flaps that can be raised for windows.  They all have nice patios overlooking the lake.  We can tell they have electricity and air conditioning, not sure about indoor plumbing.

These rental RVs look to be a new addition to the park – they do have indoor plumbing.

There were several rowing teams out on the water this evening.

Who says you can’t take it with you?  My question is where do they put all this unnecessary stuff?  It is kind of cute though.
