Georgia, Dillard - Saturday, October 15, 2016 - River Vista RV Resort

This past week we spent at the River Vista RV Resort where the Freightliner Chassis Owner’s Club was having a rally.  We spent the days during the rally in site 365.

We picked up a few tips on the chassis that at least I didn’t know.  Freightliner brought in a chassis that everyone could look at and ask questions.  Several very knowledgeable representatives from Freightliner were on hand.  They also brought in a mobile parts room in a tractor trailer so we could purchase some of the basic filters and belts on site.
We met some new friends and spent quite a bit of time with another couple that is thinking about moving into their motor coach fulltime.  They wanted to see our coach so one morning after breakfast they walked over and took a tour and picked our brains about organization and fulltime living.  She said she could tell she was going to have to start living neater.

The Mountain Village Center is a great place to hold a rally.  There is a full kitchen, a small stage for entertainment and seating for around 200.  The only thing that might be lacking would be smaller rooms for breakout sessions.

The resort itself is nestled in the Smokey Mountains just outside of Dillard, GA.  They have all of the usual amenities:
Pool and sauna.

Covered building with fireplace and some game tables.

Playground

The outdoor movie theater is something you don’t see everywhere.

The pond had a cute “waterfall”.

On Friday evening we saw the full moon coming up over this mountain.  Look closely and you will see a large building at the top of the mountain.  There was some speculation that it is a hotel.

The weather got down into the mid 30’s every night.  I think this helped the foliage get some brighter colors.  We stayed a couple of days after the rally and had to move to site 186.

While we were here I had an idea about how to store all of our ball caps.  There is some unused space on the back of our sliding closet door.  There is just enough room to hang our caps without hitting the hanging clothes.

I put stick on Velcro on the door and then crisscrossed the tabs on the back of the caps so they would stick to the Velcro.
