Arizona, Tombstone - Sunday, April 26, 2015 - Wells Fargo RV Park

Looks like there is a storm brewing again in the mountains.

We haven’t been out to walk around since we arrived at Wells Fargo RV Park this morning.  But I don’t think there is too much photogenic about it.  Not that there is anything wrong with it, there isn’t.  It suits our purpose of being able to walk around Tombstone at our leisure for a couple of days.  It’s a quiet, clean small town RV park that takes up a block just off the main street.

The weather here is cooler than average right now, just getting into the low 60’s for highs and down into the 40’s for nighttime lows.  What makes it worse is the high wind.  Where we were yesterday it was pretty much open country, no trees or buildings to slow down the wind.  Last night or early this morning it rained hard and the wind just howled for about an hour.  When we got up there was no indication that it had rained at all, it was soaked up immediately.

As we were driving today I commented that it looked like we had left the palms trees of Mesa behind.  Greg said it looked like we had left all trees behind.

Yesterday we struck out as tourists.  We went into Sierra Vista to visit the community market which was advertised to happen every Saturday.  However, this Saturday it was cancelled by a carnival being set up in its location.

Our next stop was to be Fort Huachuca which is still an active military installation even though it is a National Historic Landmark District.  We mentioned to a local that we were headed to the Fort to visit the museums.  He told us the museums were all closed for renovation.  We decided that even if we couldn’t get into the museums we might walk around outside and see the Old Post Cemetery and Reservoir Hill Overlook.  The latter is supposed to have a fantastic view of the San Pedro Valley.  However, they wouldn’t let us on the post – we didn’t have our helmets or over the ankle boots L.  I don’t even own over the ankle boots, looks like shopping might be in order.
