Arizona, Huachuca City - Thursday, April 23, 2015 - Tombstone Territories RV Resort

Leaving Tucson early this morning.  The artwork along the interstate is beautiful.

Lots of open country on our short journey to Huachuca City near Tombstone.

This is home for the next few days.  This park is not fancy, but nice.  Several amenities and the calendar looks like they have quite a few activities you can participate in if you like.

The desert area where we are traveling now is greener than some other desert areas because the rain has been more abundant.  But, unless you look closely you can miss bursts of color from wildflowers.

This one is called an Ocotillo, although it has thorns on those longs stems, it isn’t a cactus.

Not sure what this bush on our site is yet, but it has some interesting looking blooms coming on.

This is also on our site, looks like a large asparagus stalk.  Going to have to do a little research on Arizona plants.

A little irrigation keeps the roses blooming.

I didn’t realize there were so many mountains in Arizona.  There are three mountain ranges we can see from where we are now.

We moved to this location so we could see some sites around the Tombstone area, we are about 10 miles away.  Our sightseeing may have to wait for a while because the winds are really strong right now.  After we got here and reviewed some brochures they gave us when we checked in we found out there is an RV park right in Tombstone, may be moving there later in the week.  When we checked in here we asked to use our Passport America discount.  They told us we could use it for three days.  Ok.  Then she said it would be $48, we said ok we want to stay for three days, she repeated the $48.  It was the price for three days, we aren’t used to rates that low – nice surprise.

  1. When we were in Tombstone we stayed at Tombstone RV Park and Campground, it is just a half mile from town and they have a shuttle van that takes guest into town (free of charge). The parks in town seemed to be really tight and a little run down in our opinion. Pam and Rod Morrison
